As many of you know for the past 2 years I have been trying to advocate for the ousting of many current GPISD School Board Trustees because of their actions and support of Nepotism, Cronyism and Conflicts of Interest. Most of these issue directly the current Superintendent Dr. Susan Hull. Sadly one of the truly GREAT trustees that we had on the board (Tim Johnson) is not running again. He so strongly believes in term limits for elected officials he is stepping down. Mr. Johnson was an advocate against corruption and a true voice for transparent and honest government. He has PUBLICLY endorsed Mrs. Luckey as well as many other individuals across the community. One reason Mr. Johnson and others are supporting Mrs. Luckey is because this year the GP Good Ole Boys have put forwarded a candidate by the name of Katrina Jones to take his seat. Mrs. Jones is a volunteer for the PTA and also is a trusted insider of our Current Superintendent and the Rubber Stamp majority trustees. In fact, if you look at her endorsements every single current or past trustee that has supported the corruption in our district is publicly endorsing her. That is no coincidence. My friend Angela Luckey is running for this seat as well. To my former students in GPISD please understand that one reason I am not teaching in GPISD anymore is because Mrs. Katrina Jones personally tried to get me fired by acting as a spy for the Superintendent when I complained publicly about CSCOPE and the illegal hiring of Dr. Hulls son and 3 relatives of a current GPISD Trustee member. Mrs. Jones forwarded Facebook conversations that she and I exchanged and tried to intentionally bait me with loaded questions, hoping I would say something untrue that she could then forward to her allies. Her deception did not work. I stated the facts and thought that she was a concerned citizen who simply wanted more information, however that was sadly not the case I am asking every student that I have taught and every family member and every friend that lives in GPISD or has a relative in GPISD to please VOTE for my friend Angela Luckey. I do not agree with Angela on issues of National Politics, but I can tell you that she is a Strong Christian and a Woman of Faith. She is someone who stood up for me when folks likes Mrs. Katrina Jones were trying destroy my career and I know she will stand up for EVERY TEACHER and EVERY STUDENT in my hometown. There are many important issues still festering in my school district. You should know that Mrs. Luckey is committed to REMOVING CSCOPE from GPISD. No questions, no arguments she understands that CSCOPE is one of the worst solutions ever developed and you can count on her advocacy to throw it out in the garbage where it belongs. She is committed to reigning in the wasteful spending which includes paying our current Superintendent $325,000 per year which makes her the 2nd high paid Superintendent in the entire State of Texas. She is committed to our schools of choice program which has been so successful, however she wants GPISD students to have priority enrollment over out of town kids. She is committed to stopping the attempts to raise your taxes in November of this year. If you are unaware of this please know that since 2007 Dr. Susan Hull and her Rubber Stamp majority board have borrowed over $300 million dollars. Most importantly she is COMMITTED to advocating for teachers. She understands that teachers are burnt out with data analysis and developing lesson plans longer than this FB post. If a teacher comes to her, she is not going to turn you in to the GPISD administration as a complainer she will listen and if you are standing up for what is right then she will have your back. Mrs. Luckey also realizes that we are wasting too much money on paid consultants and excessive salaries at the Ed Center. At this point in time the district is so deep in debt ($300 million+) that the district cannot borrow any additional money for next 20 years without a TAX INCREASE. Dr. Hull and her allies are already planning to put forward a Tax Increase vote in November once this school board election season is over. They need Mrs. Katrina Jones on the Board to make this happen. These are just a few of the issues that you need to be aware of and please realize that Katrina Jones is a very polished candidate who does serve in the PTA admirably, but sadly when it comes to important issues she is simply a Cheerleader for the existing policies, a spy on when needed and a solid YES vote for future tax increases that are on the horizon.
