Base Games and Hello Games are bringing Joe Danger to the high street! London, United Kingdom – 26th September 2013 – Publisher Base Games and game developer Hello Games are delighted to announce a worldwide retail deal for the acclaimed arcade action titles Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie. They will be released as a bundle of both games through retail stores worldwide in October 2013 for PC. Until now, Hello Games has self-published its three Joe Danger games through digital storefronts including PlayStation Store, Xbox Live, Steam and Apple’s App Store, so this will be the first time Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie will be available through physical retail. The bundle will feature both games and special extra content. The multi-award winning Joe Danger was first released in 2009 and was a huge hit with players and press. Official Xbox Magazine called it “a true XBLA classic,” awarding it 10/10, while IGN called it “incredible,” rating it 95/100. The sequel Joe Danger 2: The Movie was first released in 2012 built on the original with a crafted movie theme. Videogamer said it “always puts a smile on my face… definitive and generous” and awarded it 9/10, Destructoid called it “a videogame Nintendo would be jealous of” and awarded it another 9/10. Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2: The Movie were first released on PC via Steam in June 2013, and feature special new content to their original console releases. Joe Danger 2: The Movie includes the full set of Team Fortress 2 mercs as playable characters and a Minecraft environment for user level creation, and both games feature enhanced graphic options to ensure they look even better than ever. Ted Bishop, CEO at Base Games commented, "Joe Danger is a terrific addition to our even growing line up of products and we are delighted that Hello Games agreed to work with us to release Joe Danger into retail stores globally. The reviews have been fantastic and we are confident that the PC version will be as much of a success as the previous versions.” Sean Murray, managing director and co-founder of Hello Games, said, “It’s going to be so exciting to finally be able to pick up a copy of Joe Danger in my hands. There’s something about seeing in a shop something you’ve poured your soul into, and its lovely to have our little guy find new friends who couldn’t get hold of him in digital stores.” About Joe Danger The best-selling Joe Danger, originally released on PS3 in June 2010, is Hello Games’ debut game. Bright and colourful but packing a real kick of a challenge, it was inspired by the games its four creators played as kids: Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, Paperboy and Excitebike. With 50 levels to beat and a complete level editing mode, it went on to win awards and charm reviewers. Joe Danger 2: The Movie was released on PS3 and 360 in Autumn 2012, and added all the things that Hello Games dreamed the original Joe Danger could be and a bit more. Far grander in scale, it features movie-themed levels in which Joe dodges dinosaurs, infiltrates villains’ bases and punches criminals while riding one of loads of different vehicles, including jetpack, unicycle, minecart and skis, as well as his classic stunt bike. The package also features the following special extra content: ▪ The Making of Joe Danger eBook, which details the rollercoaster ride four friends went on to bring rainbow tears of joy to the world through videogames. ▪ Music from both Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2, so you can feed that earworm even when on the move. ▪ Wallpapers so you can live the Joe Danger life even outside the game. About Hello Games Hello Games was founded by a band of four friends who had climbed their way to the top of the pile at great developers like Criterion, Sumo, Kuju, EA and Climax. Joe Danger was their first title, a triple-A quality game developed by the talented team of four for XBLA and PSN. Since then they have been joined by some more talented people from around the globe and released Joe Danger on PC and iOS. Together they all will unleash the charm and creativity that has been stopping them from sleeping at night.
