Based on some of the personal attacks I have received from Answers in Genesis for my audacity of actually writing and publishing Navigating Genesis, I have surmised that they do not like the book! This is not surprising. It happens every time I publish a book. What was unusual was the president of another Christian organization displaying the the courage to rise to my defense, more than that, to offer to host a dinner meeting where we could graciously dialogue about our differing perspectives on creation and evolution. I am very grateful and much humbled by Debra Haarsmas efforts on my behalf. However, I am personally grieved that her gracious offer was not well received. I have posted my own 2-page appeal on our Reasons To Believe website. Here is the final paragraph: Enough is enough. There are mission fields still to be reached. How can we ask nonbelievers to dialogue with us if we cannot graciously dialogue with one another, if we treat one another as enemies? Unless we make some progress in reconciling our differences, how can we expect to help reconcile a skeptical world to Christ? We are commissioned by God to be His ambassadors. It’s time for us to start behaving as ambassadors. The full article with all the appropriate links is here: reasons.org/articles/ambassadors-for-reconciliation
