Bastille Day…56 Years Ago The Donna Reed Show actually got - TopicsExpress

Bastille Day…56 Years Ago The Donna Reed Show actually got started in the Spring of 1958 when the pilot episode was shot, but the cast has always used Bastille Day as our “official start date.” So, in honor of that date I need to pause for a moment to commemorate this significant occasion. Much changed at that moment in time, not the least of which was a very visible steady job for a 12 year-old that would last well into my 20th year. Amazing. Another momentous date arrives on Thursday of this coming week when a group of us gather at the Disneyland Hotel thanks to an invitation of the Disneyana Fan Club. Trivia hounds will remember the 17th of July as the date Disneyland opened to the public back in 1955. Yes, there was a time when even Disneyland did not exist. I will mark the date with a certain degree of humor since I was dancing at the Park with my fellow Mouseketeers on Opening Day. Who knew what was to come?
