Bat ba masyado nang nagiging widespread excuse yung poverty for the can-affords to supposedly lead a model lifestyle - thrift, practical, humble? Just so the local internet trolls have an idea, while majority of the population partied, spent their money, lived their lives as if there was no tomorrow, the remaining 1% worked their asses off. Bakit, sa tingin nyo ba kung yung perang ginastos sa royal wedding ibibigay sa mahihirap yayaman sila? Hindi! Ok nandun na ako, magkakapera. Then, whats next? Mauubos yung pera, mahirap ulit. One-day millionaires. A big portion - a significantly big portion - of them will find ways to spend their money. Yan na kasi yung cultural mindset ng lahi natin. No offense. Give a Filipino and a Chinese a peso. Si pinoy, iisipin agad kung anong kayang bilhin ng piso nya. Si intsik, iisipin agad kung san maganda ipuhunan yung piso nya. Well most of the time ganun. Hindi mo kasalanan na naging mahirap yung mga mahihirap. Hindi rin kasalanang tumulong. Pero sabi nga sa Bible (hindi ko alam kung anong verse, im no bible scholar), Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day; teach a man how to fish, and he will eat for a lifetime. Every man should be responsible for his state of life. Being born poor and dying poor are two different things. The former is by chance, the latter by choice.
