Bath Tissue Dispenser There I was sitting in the bathroom. I was responding to the call of nature. I have done this every day all my life. But this time I was seeking to notice my surroundings. I am committed to writing a small stone each day. This causes me to become much more alert to my surroundings. Then I saw a simple device that had served me all these decades. The toilet paper has a holder. Nearly always a spring-loaded cylinder passes through the roll of paper. In this case I was looking at a clever alternative method. Maybe that is what made it come to my attention. Here was another gizmo that makes my life easier. It does its duty without fanfare. It is another nearly invisible part of my modern life. I have seen videos of those in severe poverty. They live on the edge of survival daily. Sometimes I contrast their typical reality with mine. What I find in my life are hundreds of props that make each day a little easier. I call these silent servants. They are not the same as the flashy computer related tools that are hard to miss. People tell me they appreciate these writings because it helps them become more mindful. I am grateful for this ability that I have been gradually gaining and sharing. So in conclusion I say the following to the bath tissue dispenser. I see you there, silent servant.
