Battery JAAN2 Update. (Bixby Park in Long Beach, CA guns from Battery Lodor HDLA) I am pleased to announce that after allot of hard work by the Long Beach Historical Society, Long Beach Heritage Inc. yours truly, and a few others. The two gun mounts of Battery JAAN-2 in Long Beach have been saved and incorporated into the re-imagined Bixby Park project. The two firing platforms have been stabilized and turned into a lookout point jutting out and overlooking the beach below. While the park is not open to the public yet, I was able to get a sneak peek at the work yesterday. Interpretive signage should be installed by the time the park re-opens sometime in late September.
