Battle Report from 10/4. Sorry no pictures. TAU v. SPACE WOLVES 1250 Wolves 1- Wolves move first. Two Rhinos on board to start the game. One makes 12 inch move and pops smoke. Second moves 6 pivots and unloads. The now disembarked Grey Hunters unload bolter fire from point blank range into kroots hiding in the trees, taking 6 models off the board due to a really good wounding roll. Speeders move cross field to take shots at the hammerhead in the back, and fail to do any damage. Dakka dread move 6 and fire rounds into a pathfinder team, denying saves. Tau 1- Hammerhead strikes back with a shot at the dreadnoughts but fails to glance. Pulse rifles are strength five and massed fire is enough to bring down the first speeder. Riptide starts shooting cross board, failing to stop the smoke shrouded rhino from advancing. Kroot fail their move through cover move to get into assault range. Wolves 2-Due to formation rule A 3rd rhino enters the field for free, rolling a 6 to outflank he comes in from the left board edge right next to the Hammerhead. dumping his unit off they fire massed bolter fire and plasma into the firewarriors on the hill. 2nd Speeder comes in and manages to get the Explode result on the hammerhead. Continued shooting on other side of board takes 3 more kroots from the unit. Smoked rhino moves up to unload its troops which then dump their bolter rounds into the pathfinders. Dreadnoughts hit the riptide and take a wound. Tau 2- Tau fail the kroot reserve roll and continue fighting at current strength. Riptide fires at the dreadnoughts but the shots scatter away from them. Fire warriors on right side of table take 2 wounds from the marine squad that shot the kroots initially. Kroot move to assault with the attached independent character. The character issues a challenge successfully to the wolf guard sergeant. Sergeant takes one wound and fails to wound. Grey hunter combat spills over from the kroot squad to kill the independent character. Fire warriors on the hill fail to wound the 3rd rhino on board edge. Wolves 3- 3rd unit of grey hunters causes the warriors on the hill to run off board. Speeder and dread turn guns on the ripide and take 1 wound. 1st squad of grey hunters moves between the trees to engage the fire warriors. 2nd squad almost finishes the pathfinders with on remaining. Tau 3- Riptide fires then moves to engage the 2nd quad of grey hunters in close combat Taking 2 units. riptide suffers one wound. kroots come in from reserve and hit the 1st marine squad causing 2 casualties. Fire warriors cause 1. Wolves 4- 3rd unit reloads into rhino and moves around the hill to attempt to unload into the back of the riptide. 1st unit continues to move throgh the trees to engage the warriors and kroot. Dreads and speeder start taking pot shots at whatever moves. Tau 4- Riptide remains locked in comabt taking 1 more wound and 2 more units. Kroot take 5 units off first Hunter Squad. Fire warriors terribly depleted take none. Turn 5 was alot of quickly resolved combat and shooting. Game was called in the interest of time in favor of Space Wolves. Tim Smith- Here for you to read.
