Bay Area folks, who have enjoyed a beautiful few weeks, temps in - TopicsExpress

Bay Area folks, who have enjoyed a beautiful few weeks, temps in the 70s, even 80s for a long while.....brace yourself now, because youve seen the last of those until probably late March. If you wake up to an icy windshield tomorrow, dont be surprised. I was out early watching all my birds, hoping to see any signs of preparation for a cooldown. Jays and flickers were especially vocal at Veterans Park. I admire birds for their dogged (or birded) tenacity through cold and rain. The little cedar waxwings are up on my roof as we speak, looking for every last edible bit before they get smart and head south. The sun is deceptive, its warmth still viable...until tomorrow, when a ray of summer dreams will feel as if it had been left in the freezer too long. And all I can imagine is a short backpack trip to snuggle in my down bag as I listen to the nightbirds and the leaves falling at the Round Valley Regional Preserve campground. Anyone up for a cold overnighter? Have a wonderful day! Soak it up, you wont see 60 again for awhile....
