Be Found Guilty “You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell the rulers and other unbelievers about me. 19 When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. 20 For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you...22 And all nations will hate you because you are my followers. But everyone who endures to the end will be saved...27 What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear! 28 “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Amp. Mt. 10:18-19, 22, 27-28 What do you do with scriptures you don’t like? Personally, it would be convenient to just cut this out of the Bible and go on. Yet, we’d still have to contend with Mt. 24:9, 13 “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers...13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Why will people who ‘love’ be hated? Remember Jesus said in Jn. 15:18 “If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.” It all started back in the Garden of Eden. When Adam didn’t exercise authority over satan and kick him out. Instead he and woman ate from “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” Gen. 2:17, (3:6). When Jesus was born, He was not of man, containing Adam’s seed of sin. He was born of a virgin girl Mary and the Spirit of God. Long story see (Lu. 1:26-38). Being born without the sin nature of man, Jesus stepped back into the role of dominion of man given to Adam in Gen. 1:28 “...Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.” Men without Christ in their lives are still eating off of “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” They can only think. There is no life in them. There was another tree in the Garden of Eden. It was called “the tree of life,” Gen. 3:24 Those who are born again in Christ have spirits which are alive. We freely eat from the tree of life. Jn. 1:12-13 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Now we know why we’re hated and persecuted. Does this mean we live in fear? Absolutely NO! Our faith and trust in God brings the endurance...“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. 5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” 1Jn 5:4-5 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU, than he that is in the world.” 1Jn. 4:4 Jesus said in Mt. 24:12 “Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.” Will you be one of the many? It’s your choice. You choose. by Debbie Veilleux You have my permission to repost or share this devotional. Please keep my name with it as author. Thank you
