Be an ATHLETE in your BUSINESS by Jordan Kemper If you played - TopicsExpress

Be an ATHLETE in your BUSINESS by Jordan Kemper If you played a college sport such as basketball, you would know that winning games is very important. For 4 years, I played a 25 game season. Our goal was to win all 25 games and move to post-season. Was winning games the most important part of my college basketball career? Not a chance. Looking back years after playing you realize that any sport at almost any level is about teamwork, discipline, commitment, integrity, humility and character. The person I had to become in the process of playing a sport is what matters. Early morning workouts, rejection, winning big games, losing close games, balancing a student-athlete schedule, high pressure situations, dealing with clashing personalities, and even humility of sitting the bench were all part of the roller coaster of emotions I felt. The truth is that playing a sport made me become a better man. If I asked a prospect, “What do you think USANA is?” I guarantee their response would include something about “selling” and “vitamins”. I put this in to perspective for an athlete just last week. USANA is as much about “selling vitamins” as college basketball is about “winning games”. The real truth is that USANA is about personal development. The person you must become is the value of USANA. You will face every insecurity that you have in building this business. The reason I love to work with athletes in USANA is because they already understand TEAM and they understand delayed gratification. Every victorious moment on the court, on the ice, in the water or on a field feels OUTSTANDING not solely because of winning BUT because of the years of preparation and practice. If it was easy, there would be nothing to celebrate. Painting a visual picture for a prospect of what is USANA can be hard. I want them to understand that USANA is a team. We are a team. Sure, you’ll learn to sell a product. However, you must learn more about PEOPLE than you do your product, line or service. I would hope that if my name came up in conversation, one would NOT say, “Jordan is a great salesman.” I really have nothing against sales. Salesmanship is important. Rather, I would hope that people would say, “Jordan is a great leader.” Almost 7 years in my USANA journey now, I cannot put in to words the person I have become since I sat down at Starbucks to hear about USANA as a 22 year old on July 25, 2007. Better health, saving on my taxes, residual income have all resulted. That is not my favorite part. I am a better man. I am a better leader. I’m equipped to lead people. I’ve got skills for the future to make me a better husband and father. More than anything, I’ve built a OneBody family. Serving others with the people I love is my heart and passion. Learn more about PEOPLE than you do about your product, line or service. In USANA, people are the product! Love them. Serve them. Put them first. The harder this business, the more you will enjoy it. Frustration only comes when expectations are not met. Educate your expectations today. Commit to the fight. Change lives and you will be a WINNER. No Regrets, Jordan
