Then, although struggling financially, his parents saved enough to buy him a tablet and his reaction is PRICELESS. Apparently in the Argentinian culture, receiving a wooden board is a right of passage of sorts. They are used as plates for asados (barbeques). Those who have an asado board are welcome to gather near the barbeque to eat. The meat comes out hot and sizzling and is eaten from the board, rather than served on a cold plate. Note that 10-Year old Santiago stops to carefully read the cards before opening his gifts. He also joked, Now I just need a fork so I can eat! LOL He lives with his parents in the neighborhood of Mara in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. He had asked for a tablet, but was told they could not afford it. #365Gratitude #Day18
