Be wary of any email stating PO attached, invoice attached, UPS - TopicsExpress

Be wary of any email stating PO attached, invoice attached, UPS delivery delayed, etc. with an attachment. These are part of a ransom ware phishing email scam that is very prevalent right now. If the attachment is opened, it not only infects your computer, but also encrypts all of your personal files (word documents, excel documents, pictures, aiding documents, music, etc.) and then removed the encryption key from your computer. The only way to get your files unencrypted at that point is to pay the ransom as outlined in a file it leaves on the machine or restore the files from a backup. The newest variant called cryptowall uses AES 256 encryption and will even populate to your Dropbox or other cloud based backups. Be careful and be sure you know where emails are coming from before opening attachments to keep yourself clear of this virus.
