Be yourself. Everything else is already taken. ~ Oscar Wilde =================== In this post: a lesson from that time I danced for money... A secret technique for getting paid (A LOT) more... My favorite Mark Twain quote... And the unpopular truth about watching too much TV. =================== Theres no substitute for your own direct experience. AUTHENTICITY cant be purchased. CREATIVITY cant be delegated. VISION cannot be borrowed. YOUR STORY must not be a recycled version of someone elses... No matter how much you admire or look up to them. Here is a popular line, especially in business and marketing communities: You have a skill and a story that can make you RICH! Just tell your story and be REAL - people will pay you. This is Absolutely FALSE (But its nice to hear, so it sells) =================== The truth is that NOT everyone has a story thats inspiring. Most folks are, by their behavior and actions... Quite Average. No one wants to hear about average. No one wants to hear about boring. No one cares about those who have lived an unexamined life. No one will be moved by a story about the dream that almost happened. So. Be honest with yourself. Have you really been living? ...Or have you SETTLED. Do you celebrate your progress each day, counting the BABY WINS that inevitably add up to the big ones? ...Or do you drain your life away, plotting and planning the things that you HOPE and WISH will happen? NEWSFLASH: Not everyone has a story or skill that will inspire others to take action. So theres only ONE PATH for those who want to grow, gain and give bigger than ever... ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Make sure that both your STORY and your SKILL are always under construction. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• In 30 days you can have MAJOR upgrades to both. Do the work that calls you - and be prepared to train like a machine when no one else is watching. Take the lesser known paths. While everyone else is busy being entertained, manipulated, sold to, preached to and mentally pushed around... You must read, listen to and watch great messages. You must birth some goodness into the world every day. And you must practice. This means actual repetitions of whatever your particular skill is. Theres nothing you cannot improve (MASSIVELY) through rehearsal and repetition. When I competed in a local Dancing With The Stars event to raise money for veterans, disabled and families going through rough times, I knew ZERO about how to dance... 7 weeks and 30 lessons later, I could hold my own. That night, just before the competition, as everyone else was scrambling backstage to cram in one last run through... I was laying down in the back of the room, eyes closed and feeling calm, confident and peaceful. My dance teacher had done her job, and Id done mine. That routine was IN ME. It had become a part of me. When it came time to perform, my partner and I walked out on the floor, the music started, and training kicked in. The routine flowed. We had a blast. The crowd went crazy and we walked away with the satisfaction of knowing that we helped raise almost $300,000 that night for a great cause. The trophy was nice, too :) Mark Twain said: There is nothing that training cannot do. Nothing is above its reach or below it. It can turn bad morals to good, good morals to bad; it can destroy principles, it can recreate them; it can debase angels to men and lift men to angels. So the hours that youre spending each week... Are actually training. I have many private clients who have doubled, tripled or 10xed their income simply by practicing asking for the money they wanted to receive in exchange for the value they offered. If youre in any type of situation where you are the one providing value and asking for money, AKA sales, then do this: Using carefully chosen and elegant language... Put in 20 repetitions a day, for one week, asking for the income youd like to receive in exchange for your service and value. This will result in a explosion of money into your life - assuming of course that you have the skill to back it up. Even when skill is lacking, there is a simple solution: Practice. Youll get better. And because most people stop practicing once they reach a certain level... You will quickly become better by a mile. Every repetitive act is practice. If you watch EXCESSIVE hours of TV as an escape from the burden of your own potential and to avoid the act of actually making your dreams come true... You are practicing. Practicing to be a better consumer, a more loyal fan, a committed spectator, and a voyeur of others creativity. On the other hand, if you spend just 20 minutes a day doing something that will give you a better SKILL, or a better STORY... In a months time you will have built a brand new history for yourself. So dont believe the hype. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF. You want to know how good you are? Youre only as good as your last practice. ===================== You can add to your focus power with the free Mind Vitamin video series, available here: bit.ly/1cbjKEw
