Beamer here. Why do you think San Antonio has had such a long history of failed plans for Childrens Hospitals here? Yet another round of talks just failed which would have meant a new Childrens Hospital with a partnership between the University of Texas Health Science Center and Methodist Healthcare. The plan that is going forward - involving Christus and the Baylor College of Medicine - actually grew out of the ashes of another failed plan a couple of years ago. But their Childrens Hospital of San Antonio is downtown. It does not include San Antonios long-time medical school (UTHSC-SA) or our big, tax-supported public hospital (University Health System) so some say we need another childrens hospital.
