Bear Tales 10-31-14: I had to share this story with the group. It was such a great Halloween treat! Before we headed home yesterday, we decided to make one more pass thru Cades Cove. We usually see bears on every trip but had not seen one on this trip. As we passed the road that goes to the Primitive Baptist Church, I saw a Ranger car. As we continued on, there was another Ranger walking along the road. When we got to the field on the left, this Ranger was walking along the tree line. I told my husband that there must be a bear in there somewhere. I pulled off and just watched. As the Ranger headed back toward the road, the bear they were looking for darted out of the woods right behind the ranger and headed into the deep grass behind him (you can see a glimpse of him in the middle of the second picture). He was so fast running away, I didnt get a good picture of him but that is ok because the scene of him playing hide and seek with the Rangers gave us a laugh and ended our trip on a high note!
