Beaufort, I am so in love with you... From Point South all the way in... I roll my windows down so that I can smell the salt water in the wind. Seemingly, I come alive when I hit exit 33. A perfect tease for what is to come. The Oaks that line 17, the grass, the marsh land at low tide... Driving through Gardens Corner, Boles, Dale, Stuart Point, and rolling up on Grays Hill makes it all the more real. Remember Corner Mart? At this point, Im looking at vehicles to see who I recognize. By the time I hit Air Station, the feeling is unbearable. I guess its just me hunh? I begin to think Maryland Fried Chicken? or Alvin Ords? I wonder if Momma made that Potato Salad. Its Thursday night... Bike Club? Nah, Im just gonna chill on Parker Hill. Family Babe! I love me some Low Country... As it is evident, I am certainly out of Beaufort here in New Jersey, but Beaufort is right here with me. You cant take that out of me. Ive got my money, got my whiskey... LOL... (Momma, thinking about how we listen to Mel Waiters). There is no where in the world like it. I believe I am qualified to say that having travelled the world.
