Blister pearls are rarer than other varieties. They are hemispherical and form between the mussel and its shell, in a half sphere of mother of pearl. For this reason they are sometimes referred to as a pearl doublet. The silver surround has a beautiful geometric form and a lovely engraved finish. The pearl is securely bezel set and fully intact with so chips or cracks. The brooch has a pin with a C clasp and is stamped STERLING. It is a lovely dainty piece which measures 2.7 by 1.3cms. The pearl is 2.3cms by 8mm. This brooch is in wonderful condition for its 80 plus years of age. It still fastens well and has no damage. The silver has a light build up of tarnish. The brooch will be sent in a beautiful new presentation box.
