Beautiful day inside the fifth chakra experience for Soul Vows which opens with finding the music inside your soul vows. Writing this chapter laid out for me the astonishing synchronicity of The Soul Directed Life radio show. Why did I have a month last September on the call to sing a sacred song? was it simply to meet Rabbi Shefa Gold? Right now, Im thinking yes. Heres a snippet of what I wrote today: When Rabbi Shefa Gold was on the show, she explained the difference between song and chant. “Song is beautiful, but with chant, I expect to be a different person. I want to unlock the power of the sacred words and take them into my body.” In her book, The Magic of Hebrew Chant, Rabbi Gold explains this more fully: “A chant is different from a song. It is a meditative practice that encompasses and integrates our inner and outer dimensions. When I sing a song, I am communicating meaning and expressing beauty to the listener ‘out there.’ But when I chant, I am also communicating with and awakening places inside me that need to hear and be touched by the chant. A song may entertain, but a chant is meant to transform. When you’ve learned the melody and rhythm of a chant, you’ve only touched the surface. Then, you can begin to explore the inner dimensions of the chant.” And THAT is exactly what happens when you ask to hear the sacred chant of your soul vows.
