Beautiful reminder Fridays Khutba read by sheikh Abdullahil Kafi at masjid at tawhid Dangers of Rejecting Quran and Sunnah Dear brothers and sisters, honouring the Quran and the Sunnah is fundamental to the people of true faith: those who follow the Sunnah, protect and preserve the religion, have knowledge, follow the path of the righteous, and adhere to the traditions of the good predecessors; those whose law is the Quran, whose way is the Sunnah, and whose example is the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam), . They teach true monotheism and creed, defend the Sharia, undermine detestable innovations in the religion, and abhor mean partisanship. They do not depend on any person, party, or book in making allies or enmities other than the Quran and the Sunnah. The only example they obediently follow is the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam),; they know about his traditions and honour his words. They believe in them, approve of them, accept them, submit to them, and never oppose them. The Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said in his last sermon on the mountain of Arafah: “O people, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will born. O people, understand words, which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and my example, the Sunnah, and if you follow these you will never go astray.” Imam Ash-Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Anything that contradicts the orders of the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is null and void and should not be the basis for any argument or analogy; for Allah gives no excuse to anyone who opposes what the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said“. يقول عمر بن عبد العزيز رحمه الله تعالى: ما لأحد رأي في سنة سنها رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. Umar ibn Abul-Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “No one should offer an opinion in a matter that has been decided by one of the sunnahs of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam)“. He who rejects the Sunnah is none but a misleader; he who opposes it is none but a helpless person; and he who challenges it is none but a wretched man. He who rejects the hadiths that are agreed to be authentic has deviated from the opinion of the people of the Sunnah; he has contradicted the consensus of the Jama’ah (the Muslim community) and the Ummah’s predecessors, and has fallen into misguidance, innovations, and mischief. Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Whoever rejects the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) is on the verge of his destruction.” Abut-Tahir As-Silafi (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Whoever rejects the authentic hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and does not submit to them has gone astray and has been misguided. For the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) did not speak out of his own desires.” Al-Barbahari (may Allah have mercy on him, said) “If you hear a man challenging or rejecting the Prophetic traditions [i.e. authentic hadiths], or seeking guidance beyond them, you can accuse him of not being a Muslim, and you should never have doubts that he is a follower of his own whims and an innovator.” Ibn Al-Wazeer (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Disbelieving the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam), while knowing that they are truly his, is explicit disbelief.“ Dear brothers, People with blemished creed and corrupted faith reject and disbelieve the Sunnah if it is contrary to their diseased minds or disgusting views. Mu’adh ibn Mu’adh said, “I heard Amr ibn Ubaid* talking about the hadith of the truly inspired and trustworthy Messenger (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) on preordainment (Qadar). He said, “If I heard Al-A’mash say that, I would call him a liar. If I heard the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) say that, I would reject him. If I heard Allah say that, I would say to Him, ‘This is not the covenant You have taken from us’.” We seek refuge in Allah! We seek refuge in Allah! What horrible words! What despicable acts! Dear brothers, those who invent lies about the master of all creatures r or dare to challenge his sayings should be deterred, suppressed, and prevented from committing such acts so that the Shari’ah and the Sunnah may be protected and so that the high status of the Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) may be preserved. Abu Mu’awiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) talked to Ar-Rasheed about the hadith starting “Adam and Musa argued . . .”. Then one man asked, “Where did they meet?” Ar-Rasheed got furious and said, “Bring me the sword and the leather mat [on which those sentenced to death were executed]. This is a heretic that challenges the hadith’”. He did not set him free until he had shown true repentance. Dear brothers, When those who reject the Sunnah are faced with authentic hadiths, they resort to alternative ways such as proclaiming defamations, hinting at defects, alluding to objections and rejections, and giving false interpretations. Imam Al-Darimy (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “I was told that one of the followers of Al-Marissy asked their master, “How can we respond to them (Sunnah scholars) when they tell us of these well-authenticated narrative chains, such as ‘Abu Sufian narrated on the authority of Mansur, on the authority of Al-Zuhry’, or ‘Al-Zuhry narrated on the authority of Salim’, or ‘Ayub and ibn ‘Awn narrated on the authority of ibn Sireen’, or ‘Amr ibn Dinar narrated on the authority of Jabir that the Prophet r said . . .’ and similar narrative chains that guarantee the authenticity of the hadith?” Al-Marissy then said, “Do not reject these or you will be exposed, but find fault with them by using different interpretations. Thus you will have rejected them implicitly, as you cannot reject them explicitly”. This is the way of those who deny the Sunnah. Their ultimate aim is to flout its rulings and evade its orders. So fear Allah, fellow Muslims! Submit to the sunnahs (Prophetic traditions) and do not deny them. Honour them and put them in high priority. Beware of the transgressors and heretics, the corrupt slanderers, the callers to sedition, the advocates of innovations, and the brigades of Iblees (Shaytan). May Allah make us of those who respond to and follow the call of the infallible Prophet (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and protect us from the evil of the people of misguidance, ingratitude, and innovation. بارك الله لي ولكم في القرآن العظيم ونفعني وإياكم بما فيه من الآيات والذكر الحكيم، إنه تعالى جواد كريم ملك بر رؤوف رحيم. أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم ولسائر المسلمين فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم. I have said what you have heard, and I ask forgiveness of Allah for myself, for you, and for all Muslims, for any sin we have committed. Ask Allah for forgiveness, for He is the Most Forgiving to those who often turn unto Him in repentance. Second Khutbah/ الخطبة الثانية إن الحمدَ للهِ حمداً كثيراً طيباً مباركاً فيه، والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله من لا نبي بعده، وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم البعث والدين. وبعد... أيها الإخوة الكرام.... ﴿ يَـۤأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَكُونُواْ مَعَ ٱلصَّادِقِينَ ﴾ Dear brothers, Fear Allah, be watchful of Him, and obey Him: “O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds)” [At-Tawbah: 119] Dear brothers, None is more hostile to the Sunnah and its followers than those who insist on lying, and accuse the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam), the best people after the prophets (along with those who love and defend them and ask Allah to be pleased with them), of being disbelievers; those who consider it permissible to shed the blood of Muslims, surely their honour and plunder their money, on the basis of narrations and stories that they fabricated and falsely attributed to the master of all creation, Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam), and his virtuous household.
