Because Chamisa ignored to answer to the allegations leveled - TopicsExpress

Because Chamisa ignored to answer to the allegations leveled against him on many MDCT FB page we have decided to repost the same .Failure to answer to these allegations only shows that the allegations are true or Chamisa and his team (out of arrogance) take people for grunted and should be shown the middle finger by the MDCT family.Mwonzora clearly answered to the allegations that the Chamisa team had preferred against him.Dont keep on deleting this post but instead answer or defend your horse MDC CONGRESS 2014- THE SG CONTEST So much has been said, and done, about the post of Secretary General in the MDC. Especially with nominations and the impending congress at the end of October. Its important to put things into perspective. A sad precedent is developing and it must be curbed and effectively done. When issues are raised whether in private or in public about a candidate swords come out blazing. All sorts of reprimands and accusations are raised by others. One is accused of washing dirty linen in public and being anti the movement. Now that is extreme relativity or subjectivity. Most of the finger pointers conveniently avoid the fact that most of the so called dirty linen has been in the public domain for a long time. The public believe or even know that the linen is dirty. It will only serve to worsen speculation to pretend that the public doesnt know that the linen is dirty when it already believes its dirty. Taking away the purported dirty linen from the public eye prompts the publics curiosity and suspicion to deepen. Even if the dirty linen is taken private it must be taken back to the public and the public will judge its cleanliness. If it still has stains they will say it. Why should a good linen washer be afraid of public scrutiny if there are no stains to hide. There has been contention, in particular, for the post of SG in the MDC as the party moves towards its congress. Specifically, the contest is between Mwonzora and Chamisa. It is the publics right to know these people because they are seeking public office. Those going to vote for these guys, both at party and national levels, need to do so from an informed position not from an artificial cosmetic position. There is a disturbing development evolving. When anyone says Chamisa is not suitable for the post of SG one is subjected to a barrage of insults and labeled a rebel or Zanupf mole. One is accused of trying to destabilize the party. This is dangerous and must not be encouraged. Instead of responding to why those saying he is not fit are saying so there is a resort to insults and threats. We like Nelly. He is a charismatic Youngman. He appeals to the young generation. Such people are an asset to a political party. However, its imperative to note that a party and the nation need a CHARISMATIC AND CLEAN Youngman in its leadership. Issues must be raised and Chamisa has an obligation to respond and clear them. He is not a god and untouchable. He is just like all other ordinary young men in Zimbabwe. If Mwonzora has issues raised about him he has an obligation to come clean about them. Those who vouch for him need not insult those who raise the issues. This is a democratic movement and some of the major tenets of democracy are transparency, accountability and fairness. We have heard Mwonzora is not popular with grassroots. Convince otherwise those saying so. Dont insult them. We have heard he is junior to Chamisa in the party. We have seen what Chamisa did as youth chair, as spokesperson and as organizing secretary. We have seen Mwonzora thrust into the most delicate portfolio in the Standing Committee as the spokesperson. He was given the responsibility to take charge of the constitution making process which is one of the reasons the MDC was formed in 1999. We have seen how he executed those responsibilities. We havent heard complains about his handling of these responsibilities. We have heard so many things about Nelly within and outside the party. Its imperative that Nelly clears himself and not leave all of us, who support and admire him, doubting his authenticity. There are a number of issues that Chamisa needs to clear himself from for people to have confidence in giving him responsibility of the SG portfolio. 1. Nelly has been linked to business deals with our major rival through contracts with Gushungo Holdings owned by Zanupf leader Robert Mugabe and his family. If its true this means that he sits in business and other meetings to do with their contract with Mugabe. What are the implications for the party? How will this auger with the responsibilitie s of Secretary General of the party that wants to get Zanupf and Mugabe out of power? 2. Nelly is linked to a haulage truck partnership with Kasukuwere of Zanupf. Kasukuwere, besides being Zanupf, is believed to be one of the commanders of thuggary in intra and interparty violence. He has been fingered in corruption cases. He is well protected by the system that as a party we blame for the Zimbabwe crisis. 3. Nelly has been fingered within the party for imposition of candidates in the last election. A lot of our members raised disgruntlement pre and post election. What assurance is he giving to the masses that this will not happen again? 4. Nelly has again been fingered for creating fiefdoms in the party through bringing his friends into party structures. Of note are people like Charlton Hwende who is alleged to have been imposed on the people of Chegutu both in the structures and parliamentary candidature. Some are saying he is also trying to smuggle Hwende into the standing committee. 5. Chamisa is said to command a team of thugs that has been putting the name of the party into disrepute through violence and intimidation of party cadres who do not subscribe to Chamisa. We heard what they are alleged to have done in Gweru during the provincial congress. He is said to be commander of the diehard intolerant cyber thugs who insult anyone who thinks otherwise about Chamisa on Facebook. Kanye North weMDC has been fingerered to be one of such thugs. 6. Nelson is accused of having designed a congress template that makes anyone who garners a third of the support retain a position in the structures. This seems counter to democratic principles. Who were being protected and why. 7. Chamisa is accused of having changed the rules of engagement in the congresses by abandoning the secret ballot in favor of show of hands. Is this in line with our principles as a democratic party? Is this in line with our internal electoral governance? 8. People want Chamisa to justify why he was directly involved in the provincial nomination processes when he himself is a candidate for nomination. 9.People want to know why for example during the first Harare nominations a party employee (Farai) was allowed to partake in the political process contrary to the party constitution. This employee is alleged to have nominated Chamisa his boss for the post of SG. What does this mean to other employees and the party? Is the employee loyal to the party or the individual given that its the party that pays his salary? 10. People want to know why as a lawyer and honest man Nelson chose not to recuse himself from the nomination processes. 11. Nelly has accumulated so much wealth people need to know his source of income. There are suspicions that something sinister was happening during the GNU. 12. Chamisa once openly idolized, the partys chief culprit in Zimbabwes sociopolitical and economic downturn, Robert Mugabe. What assurances of his loyalty to the party can he give to the people he wants to entrust him with the responsibility of the party administration? 13. Chamisa need to convince the party faithfuls that the nominations were not stagemanaged. All cards must be put on the table. What the party needs is for its cadres to desist from insulting each other and engage in productive debate that makes those behind us to be able to distinguish us from Zanupf. Looking at the two candidates,Chamisa, if elected to the post he will bring youth vibrance and charisma to the party. While he is likely to bring more members he is also likely to drive away some due to his abrasiveness and arrogance. Arrogance and abrasiveness will be his undoing. Chamisa is an excellent politician. If elected to the post Mwonzora can bring maturity and stability to the party administration. He has a proven record in his own law firm, at the NCA and at Copac on the corporate level. He is a techno politico. The party will benefit from this given its checkered history in its administration department. The party needs an administrator who is a politician. He, however, needs to continue to positively employ his stubbornness to help the party consolidate political gains on the national platform. We wish the candidates well in their quest at the congress. With their strengths and weaknesses the people will make their choice. Contestation is the essence of democracy
