Because as they say, sometimes you have to be the change you want to see. This morning at 7:00am, First Year Students of The Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture decided to take the matter of a highly disgusting road into their own hands. Inspired by the facebook page The Ugly Indian, these students decided to rise and clean up the road leading to their college. 7 hours later, 150 bags worth of garbage was collected from around a 100 ft long wall, painted and then decorated. Exhausted and incredibly happy, these students all felt the high of teamwork and giving back to the city they live in. Like them, if all of us took ownership of the area we work/live/study in, Karachi can win this battle and cleanliness can prevail! This is proof. Humans of Karachi salutes the IVS students! If anyone does a similar community activation (and it would be awesome if you do- especially you uni/school students) wed love to share it here in The Change I Wish to See Album.
