Because it was such a success the first day, yesterday started - TopicsExpress

Because it was such a success the first day, yesterday started with laps in the pool followed by frozen creamed cappuccino with a Kit Kat. We then walked into town to go to the open air market. It was very obvious when it was siesta time. Trucks arrived by the droves to pack up and get out of there. It was very hot and McDonald’s was the closest place, so we could no longer resist the urge to go to McDonald’s. For a McFlurry, you get to pick the ice cream, sirope (syrup – chocolate, caramel, or white chocolate), and chocolat (candy/cookie) to mix. Interesting idea . . . Then, it was a quick trip to the supermarket followed by a walk along the beach back to the apartment. There was some interesting spray painting, an orange Audi TT (yes orange), and a climbing net ready and waiting. More wind surfing was on the agenda. Today wind surfing was a bit more difficult, because there was minimal breeze and there were little kids learning to surf. However, the water was warm – just like I like it. After that adventure was over, we went to Alicante for dinner and a stroll. There were nice little craft booths, a wedding with a beautiful bride, an orchestra, a monument with lovely statues, a castle, break dancers, a Michael Jackson imitator, and a nice dinner. A few things to know before you visit Spain: 1. they are really serious about their siesta - nothing is open from about 1:30 – 5:30 2. they like spandex and the Speedo - way past their effectiveness 3. nudity is not a problem – which certainly put some things in perspective
