Because of Walgreens tax avoidance plan to move its national headquarters to Switzerland in order to stop paying ANY US taxes while still earning 90% of its revenue in the US, I think that I will move my prescription drug purchases to another pharmacy. How about you? Although Walgreens will save a substantial amount on federal taxes (25%), they will still have to pay corporate taxes to Switzerland, plus they will have to pay out other costs of maintaining additional administrative offices in the US and other costs of running a multinational corporation, and they will lose key personnel who dont want to move to Switzerland. A corporation should headquarter where the bulk of their revenue is earned in order to maintain the most goodwill which is a valuable asset. Walgreen shareholders should beware of their CEOs tax scheme. Maybe he just wants to live in Switzerland where they dont have to deal with Tea Party Republicans, and the skiing is great.
