Because we can never have enough brand new character discussion, lets discuss how Shulk should be balanced so hes not overpowered or underpowered. Specifically, I want to talk about his Monado arts, since he is the first character in Smash history to be a style change character who doesnt turn into another character. Here is what we know about them so far (From Smashboards): 翔 (Jump): higher jumps, lower defense. 疾 (Speed): faster movement, weaker attacks. 盾(Shield): higher defense, slower movement. 斬(Buster): stronger attacks, weaker launch ability. 撃(Smash): Stronger launch ability, weaker attacks, lower defense against launching. What I want to know is: 1. How fast should be be able to switch between them? Obviously it should be far faster than Zelda/Sheik or Pokemon Trainer, but how much faster? 2. Should he be able to style change in mid-air? If so, how fast should THAT be? 3. Should there be a 6th option (neutral, no stat changes) available? If there is already, can somebody point it out to me? 4. Should there be a time limit to how long each mode lasts before it defaults to normal?
