Bed Bug -------- the bite never forgets In our boyhood days, we experienced the bite of bed bugs almost everyday. That time, the cots, chairs, benches and other wooden furniture had plenty of bed bugs. Our habit was of finding them and presses them with the fingers or sting with rib of coconut leaf. We enjoyed the breaking of its bulged body with a sound. The fluid oozes out from its body had a mix smell of human blood and its body fluid. We also pour melted wax from candles to the holes of cots and other furniture to destroy them. The seats of buses and theatre chairs of that period had coir fiber inside and that were a good nursery for bed bugs. Now, the situation has totally changed and bed bugs are very rare. Tik-20 was the pesticide used at that time to kill them. I remember my father covering his mouth and nose with fine cloth and spraying pesticide on furniture to kill bed bugs.
