[Bedroom Hajj Diary Part 3] The climax of the Hajj, Yaum - TopicsExpress

[Bedroom Hajj Diary Part 3] The climax of the Hajj, Yaum Al-Arafah. Corresponding with the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, it marks the greatest day of the Pilgrimage and its most important. The Prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam stated, Hajj is Arafah concerting his effort in emphasising its importance. It is a day of supplication and repentance in which the salahs are moved to the ends of the day in order to free up the time for dua. The Prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam stated, There is no day upon which Allah frees His servants from the Hellfire more than the day of Arafat. He draws near and then He praises them to the angels, saying: What do these want?” It is then followed by proceeding to nearby Muzdalifah where the night is spent under the stars. The routine for the day is as follows: 1. Pray Fajr in Mina where the night was spent then head to Arafah after sunrise. 2. Pray Dhuhr and Asr together at the time of Dhuhr once in Arafah. 3. The time between Dhuhr and sunset is one set aside purely for dua and repentance. (You must ensure you are within the boundaries of Arafah otherwise the Hajj will be nullified). Although the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam stood at the foot of Jabal Ar-Rahmah (the hill marked with the white pillar) and supplicated, the whole of Arafah is a place of standing and so it is recommended to remain in your tent area and avoid the rush. 4. Upon sunset, proceed to Muzdalifah. 5. Pray Maghrib and Isha combined only once you reach Muzdalifah (unless youre stuck in traffic as midnight approaches.) 6. Spend the night in Muzdalifah. In the video: Arriving in Arafah, a quick trip to Jabal Ar-Rahmah, Me ol mucka Ismail Davids from the Aussie group next door getting harangued for his signature. His book Getting the Best out of Hajj is probably the best on the topic in the English language. Then the short trip to Muzdalifah where the night is spent in the open preceded by a reminder by Sheikh Haitham. I had one of the most peaceful nights sleep ever in this place!
