Been a bit preoccupied w/Yamahaz the last 2days or 3? All a delightful blur;) started with a weld failing and lost a motor halfway thru 1st run, fixed w/the help of Jason Omer and Matt! Then waited 15 hrs to run for 2nd time, that happened yesterday, ran fast then was dancing a bit in the rear @90mph, tried to go faster and motors bogged down and died halfway thru timed mile. Apparently wheel bearing disintegrated, thought there was grooves in track, but no...wheel was cocked a bit sideways after. Hunted this am for an odd sized bearing, no one in the state of Utah, literally, had one that would work. So after checking 3 auto repair places in Wendover/Nevada, an old guy at The Shop, a pretty beat down garage, said come in my impound yard, gotta offload go cart, we can check that. Sure enough, doing a technical measurement with my pinky, the inside bearing fit or was close, so I wrenched it off and pounded out and he said good luck! Thx to Brent from MotoBits and Mr. Zlock & Son and S&S Motors for help with the bearing and welder, wheel hub was customized to accept Go cart bearing and all 4 bikes are ready for the salt. Todays racing canceled because of last nites rain. Last day of racing is tomorrow, Carl & Mark have their sights set on 200mph and no doubt will get it. Me 125mph on a 106mph record, Aki Ooolala Ojala, whatever he can get as long as its fast! Been an amazing week with some of the most amazing people Ive ever met & tomorrow is the day of reckoning.
