Been a very busy week. On top of a lot of work, I had an opportunity to speak with Attorney General Roy Cooper about the next steps in getting Western North Carolina a fully functional drug, blood, and DNA lab. I also had the honor of being present for the presentation of medals and long-deserved recognition to four Vietnam Veterans at the Jackson County Senior Center. I was also glad to see many of my friends in the Democrat Party from Haywood and Jackson Counties during the week. The continued support and encouragement they and others throughout the district have shown is truly uplifting. Because today is our wedding anniversary, Connie and I went out last night to the Fines Creek Bluegrass Festival (and had a great time), and we are enjoying a quiet evening at home tonight after spending the early part of the evening with great friends having a great time. I still got a little campaigning in by attending a BBQ and car show in Franklin today where I met a great number of new and old friends, both law enforcement and private citizens.
