Been about 6 days since surgery. Just now feeling somewhat able to - TopicsExpress

Been about 6 days since surgery. Just now feeling somewhat able to do things after being really ill for about 3+ weeks. Still having acute GI symptoms, and I have no appetite to speak of. Kaiser did emergency cholecystectomy on Friday, as my blood pressure when I got to Fresno was only 77/44. I was literally rushed out of recovery and sent home less than 2 hours after the procedure to recover at home, still in severe pain and feeling very weak. I dont feel that this was appropriate as I was already compromised and had been severely dehydrated for over a week before the surgery. Clinically, given the length of time I had been ill, I probably needed a couple days on I.V. therapy and proper care until I was more stable and able to drink and eat on my own before going home. Unfortunately, I was in no condition to be being proactive in my own care at that point. I am not happy with Kaiser Fresno, and so far this procedure and the recovery has not been easy for me. It seems that more and more, the machine that is traditional medicine does not see patients nor address the individuals needs at all. It actually felt more like an assembly line where the bodies who were a little more urgent were sent to the front of the line to be processed through the chute as quickly as possible. Getting better though slowly, finally drank 2 cups of coconut water yesterday which made a huge difference in how I was feeling. Thanks for those who sent me a thought or two.
