Been answering too many calls. Let me try to make it clear and simple. Many people including NGOs, young active Malaysians are totally disgusted with the forced by-election in Kajang. They have called us/me as well as lobbying for PSM to field a candidate. I believe they want to make a protest vote. There is also calls to boycott the election. Some feel both the parties are behaving the same way, so we need a third choice. In that context, many see PSM as a third choice. Even local PAS and some veteran DAP members are calling us to field a candidate. 2 aspiring independent candidate have also called me seeking our endorsement. PSM is also familiar with Kajang as it has been our base for many years. Nevertheless PSM is a party which believes in collective decision making proses. We dont have party supremo (including the SG) who have powers to decide on these issues unilaterally. So PSM will have to call for a meeting and take into the consideration the feeling of the rakyat, our close ally and supporters as well as party members before we decide to stand in Kajang. To date, PSM as well as myself have not made any statement or decision saying that we will stand in Kajang. We only said that it cannot be ruled out. We are still open to views from others on this. So wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year. We are reminded in the year of the horse that politics is like horse trading. But it should never be in the expense of the people.
