Been busy and off of FB, but this is important: FOR THOSE WHO REMEMBER MARY MALLARD: Great Lady, now living in Asheville, NC near her daughter Joan. Today I was surprised to receive a hand written letter from Mary, a 94 year old friend. She had heard about my book JUST PUBLISHED and wanted to buy a copy. I am thrilled and honored. Mary was my first Weight Watcher Leader in 1965. Harry and I were friends with Mary’s sister and husband, Evelyn and Nick, when we taught school in Corpus Christi in 1948. Thurston Mallard, Mary’s husband, was Harry’s favorite FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR when Harry got his Instrument License. Mary was active in anything worthwhile in Azle, including The Mary Anderson Bowden Music Club. She was very ill when her daughter Jane Slape moved her from Eagle Crest Villa to Janes home in Lakeside. Jane took loving care of her mother and she daily improved. She was and is, an Over-Comer. What a joy to know Mary is still doing amazingly well.
