Been doing some interesting reading. (Is it rational for a political process to elect “leaders” who have no actual power because all of the real power resides with external super rich individuals, banks and corporations that can use their wealth and power to buy the political system and enforce their will? Can anyone deny that banks, corporations and the super rich tell Presidents and Prime Ministers what to do? That’s what democracy has delivered: a system in which the people get to choose a powerless figurehead who simply does what the non-elected elite decide. No political system supposedly operating in the interest of all the people can be subject to external influence by groups and individuals that have no interest at all in the well-being of the people. You’d need to be insane to think this could work. Who shapes government, the rich elite.)
