Been in Germany for a while, but never seen a castle? Check out Schloss Nymphenburg in Munich. From the Munich Central Station take the S-Bahn #16 to Romanplatz. The palace is at the end of a long drive with ornamental ponds and fountains right in front of it. If your time is limited you can forgo the guided tour and check out the extensive gardens at the back which are free for you to roam at your leisure. Looking for something a little more “storybook?” Then Neuschwanstein Caslte in Schwangau is a must. Neuschwanstein Castle is a nineteenth-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany.
