Been out trapping cats who are in harms way at 3 different - TopicsExpress

Been out trapping cats who are in harms way at 3 different locations lately. The unaltered, feral ones are being vetted and released to much safer environments! The ones who appear to be somewhat tame are being fostered and the ones I think are young enough to be socialized are also being vetted and then fostered until adoption. I was called to one location where the management of a large apartment complex has threatened to call animal control on Friday if we dont trap and remove the cats off of their property. I believe there are 5 to catch and I only caught one of them tonight. (These pics are of the cats I trapped earlier today at the car dealership who has been releasing guard dogs onto the property to kill the cats and kittens.) I met two very tame cats at the apartment complex so, I asked some neighbors if they knew who they belonged to. They told me which apartment so, I then left a note on their door explaining the situation and told them they should keep their cats indoors because they could be taken by animal control. The woman was fuming over the whole thing! They pay extra rent for their two cats and have lived there for 6 years with no problem but, some neighbors have called into the management office complaining about the cats on the premises in general - which includes their two beloveds (who arent wearing collars or tags and arent microchipped. . I spoke to some prick tenant earlier today who probably was one of the ones that complained about the cats. I told him I will be removing he cats from the property. he responded with a very emphatic, GOOD!! So, I said, I guess you dont like cats, huh? .Him: If I wanted a cat - I would have a cat! So, I thought I would inquire a little further...Just out of curiosity, why do the cats bother you so much? Him: Well, they have ruined 2 of my chairs on my patio and a female cat had kittens inside my recliner!: Imagine that! The audacity of that momma to have her babies in the only place she could find that seemed safe and warm for her babies!! I dont think many people realize the absolute peril and harsh conditions homeless cats are subjected to! This is what fuels me to TNR, foster, rehab as many as I can - because to each and every one of them - their life matters!! They will literally fight tooth and nail to live just like any other animal would - including the human animal. Needless to say, I offered to take Scott & Lindas beloved kitties to the vet to be microchipped. She professes they are her babies and I explained being chipped is her best chance of recovering her furkids should they ever get taken by animal control. I gave her my phone number and explained that the disdain her neighbors feel for cats could easily escalate into violence against them. I do think she will call me to take them to be chipped. I told her it only costs $35 each and she said that was reasonable. She stated she didnt have the time to take them in so, thats why I volunteered to do it for her. Fingers crossed I can get all of the furkids out of there in time!! Must be at the vets early morning! Good night!
