Been seeing a lot of posts about those Lego instructions from 1974 that are gender neutral, the instructions look a little fake to me but the article led me to find this Youtube channel, Feminist frequency. This channel has lots of great studies on gender stereotypes in pop culture and media and its really worth checking out. I know when I have kids I will most certainly encourage my girls to play with legos and to BUILD things and at the same time encourage my boys to learn how to be kind and gentle caregivers who know how to understand their own emotions. Whether you call it feminism or gender equality the core message is the same. Lets stop boxing our kids into limiting stereotypes and encourage them to be full spectrum human beings.
