Police are investigating an attempted robbery in Campbelltown yesterday. About 9.30pm (Wednesday 21 May 2014), a 47-year-old man was walking along Broughton Street when he was approached from behind by two males. The pair attempted to take the man’s wallet when a fight between the trio ensued. The man was able to escape and ran to Lindesay Street; however he was followed by five males who approached and assaulted him with a skateboard. A nearby witness spoke to the group and called police, and the males fled the scene. The man suffered cuts and swelling to his legs, arms and head. Officers attached to Campbelltown Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene. As police continue their investigations, they would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist them with their inquiries. One is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 16-years-old, of slim build and was seen wearing a white hooded jumper and carrying a skateboard. The second is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 16-years-old, of medium build and with short hair.
