Been sick since I went hunting. Might have been messing up one of my pack sleds right after leaving, coming back, fixing another sled up a bit, taking off late on what had to have been the worse winter trail ive ever seen. Hard to stay on the trial, open water here and there, hardly any markers left. Finally get into good hunting grounds a couple hills back from Levelock and weather was closing in. Turned around. On my way home there was a point where there was hardly any visibility. The whole way it seemed like I was kissing the hand of God so I was really careful. Wish I got caribou. Out of all the years living here this is only the second year that I didnt harvest. Anyways, starting to feel a little more human today, less sore, less cough. Just had some smoke fish and seal oil, that will make me feel better! Anyways, a few years back Fish and Game shortened the caribou season from April 15 to March 15th, with winter weather conditions weve had, I think we should lengthen it again.
