Been to Indigo Restaurant now twice and have to say, its one of the best looking restaurants in the city; the location, the ambience, the interiors are all superb and beautifully done. One walks in with a sense of expectation and anticipation but sadly, the food lets it all down. It’s a shame that such a lovely restaurant cant do good food especially when its been a big success in Mumbai. First time I went it was within a week of its opening and then few days later; thinking that maybe they got it wrong the first time around and would give them another chance to get all right. First visit; 4 of us went, all foodies, ordered four starters and four main courses. One really liked his soup, thought it was perfect, the other two ordered the cous cous salad and the artichoke salad and thought both were mediocre. I ordered the scallops, which were very nice, great taste and loved the sauce. However, the quantity was dismal, three tiny scallops for around Rs. 1000/-; could have at least added one more scallop. Main course, one vegetarian course was found to be excellent and two not. Mine was the potato crusted Rawa which had no flavor at all and the accompanying ginger and carrot puree couldn’t lift it up much; was a very mediocre dish and nothing to write home about. Second visit; ordered the ceaser salad, good quantity and fresh greens with chicken and anchovies; lovely though slightly on the heavier side due to the sauce. The tandoori chicken was a disaster (though recommended by the chef); too salty and no other flavor. Sad and dismal; I make a way better chicken and Im no cook. It was really really not nice. Suffice to say am not going back in a hurry which is really really sad as I wanted this restaurant to do well considering its so easy to access and the place is spectacular.
