Been unable to find information about extensions for Unemployment - TopicsExpress

Been unable to find information about extensions for Unemployment Insurance. To my knowledge, they are able to be claimed for a total of 26 weeks. In the recent past, if you were unemployed longer than that amount of time, you could apply for an extension. Ive got three weeks left, and still no jobs looming on the horizon, so it seemed prudent to look into extensions, should I need one. Theres no information. Well, correction, ALMOST no information. There was one tidbit about EUC - Emergency Unemployment Compensation, which ended in February 2013. Since that time, theres been no bill passed by the House of Representatives that allows for States to extend Unemployment Insurance beyond that initial 26 weeks. If anyone happens to know something about this that is not on the website, Id be very grateful to hear it. As it is Im only getting $104.00 a month, and having to borrow money to help keep up with my bills. You really cant live on $416.00 a month. Maybe back in 1988 you could, but not in 2014. But $416.00 a month is better than $0.00 per month. (If only had the brains of Heisenberg, instead of the looks).
