Been watching the premier league 100 club and thought I would check to see how good Alan Shearer actually was!! I remember him as awesome.....the stats prove that I was more than right!!! Has there ever been a been a better centre forward in the premier league?? Alan Shearer premier league Stat attack - 260 league goals (189 is next best) 46 headed goals (29 is next best) 58 penalties (36 is next best) 170 penalty area (136 is next best) 35 long range (30 is next best) 173 were at home (121 next best) 87 were away goals (83 next best) 68 were match winners (58 is next best) 55 inside six yard box (45 next best) 147 from open play (only Nistelrooy and Henry are higher) 1.70 games per goal average (yes there are higher but over less games, he is still very high up in the list) All in all Shearer was better than I remember, why is he not held in higher esteem? PS he also got 30 goals in 63 games for England. The man was a machine!!!!!!!!!
