Before I say anything about the game I would like to thank all parents and friends who came up, gave rides and supported us. Without your assistance there would be no team. The ride up was long, there was bad traffic and a 2 hour journey turned into 3 hours. Sitting for 3 hours is not exactly the best preparation but thats the way it is. Let me say this, we dont lose due to lack of ability or the amount of heart we put into the game. In fact, we scored first and it was well deserved. What lets us down is our discipline when we know better. Conquer this and we will be more than competitive with any team we play. What I mean is, we keep overcommitting to the breakdown. At one breakdown we had 12 men in, which left 3 men outside, had we won the ball then 1 man would pass from the ruck leaving 2 men to attack 10 men. The odds would not be in our favour. The other scenario is we lose the ball and we have 3 men defending 10, in which case the odds would still not be in our favour. This is what happened on the last play, we had 1 man defending 4! There comes a point when you have to accept they have won the ball and if you have more men available to defend than they have to attack then the odds suddenly become in your favour. Having said that the tired legs came to life in the second half and they scored only once. On several occasions we got stopped just short of the line. Jesse Shafer played an inspired game and won a well deserved man of the match. Conquer the discipline errors and we will suddenly become contenders, its that simple. Keep up the effort boys and lets work on correcting the discipline for the last two games. Lets aim for at least one win, we are more than capable if only we could stop shooting ourselves in the foot.
