Before being a mom I had a lot of preconceived notions on what kind of parent I thought I would be. I somewhat imagined myself as this all together mom who could multitask and always have organization. Turns out that kids teach you every bit of as much as what you teach them..maybe more. Im not supermom by no means. Most days, theyre in their pajamas too long, breakfast is usually done by what should be lunch, I dont always get a shower before Houston gets off, and I often give in on that sweet tea instead of water. My kids have taught me that no amount of preperation can prepare you for being a parent. You cant prevent all accidents no matter how good of a parent you are. But the process is so rewarding. I may have never predicted all the disorganization, but I also didnt predict how much Id love slobbery kisses, cheeto hands holding mine, late night giggles, early morning tickles, and the simple pleasure that comes from seeing them sleep peacefully. All the fear, anxiety, and worries should be left up to God. Just enjoy them. After all, theyre only babies once..well technically. Theyll always be my babies. Houston Waldrupe
