Before each speed exercise your athletes perform do they have an expectation? Did you explain what the purpose is? But most importantly did you set them up so they have great chance of success? The reason this is so important is because the feedback after the drill becomes real time learning, not just coachspeak. If my athletes know what they should be doing and feeling ahead of time then the feedback hits them hard- in a good way. But if they do an exercise without any real expectation of what it is meant to be the feedback cant connect the expectation to the feeling. Train Smart!
