Before my week at #MissInternational2014 really starts up, I - TopicsExpress

Before my week at #MissInternational2014 really starts up, I wanted to take a moment and thank my incredible team of support, as well as my amazing pageant family. Thank you to Mary, my wonderful director (and style icon), for putting together and building this incredible system that supports and showcases the accomplishments of todays women while inspiring others to do the same. You are a class act, and I am so honored to be competing again, now seven years later. Thank you as well to our incredible sponsors, partners, and hosts- who have made this system such a positive life-changing experience for so many. Thomas Dunn Studios, Toned to Win, Suzy Bootz, Competitive Image and Clay Spann- yall are the best of the best! Your dedication, support, and love for the system speaks volumes. To my sister queens from around the world- you all have inspired me on a daily basis- Im honored to call you my sisters. The woman I am today is because of my involvement in pageantry, and Im forever grateful. Massive thanks to my AMAZING coaches and team-members for your time, love, support, advice, and wisdom. This year was the hardest year of my life, between moving, my career, my own health scares, and nearly losing two of the most important women in my life to heart disease, and then just two weeks ago, losing a dear friend to heart problems, far too soon. Your support during this time not only helped me prepare for this competition, it got me through this difficult time and inspired me to become the best version of myself. You taught me to live and appreciate the now. There are not sufficient words to thank you. To my friends, family, and coworkers, including my Miss American Coed, Miss Colorado USA, Miss Collegiate America, and Worlds Perfect Miss families: You mean the world to me, and I value our relationships more than you know. My heart is so full with love, contentment, grace, and faith because of you all. To Learning Ally, Unicorn Childrens Foundation, The International Dyslexia Association and all of the Decoding Dyslexia chapters around the US- I hope to make you proud. I hope that sharing our collective story and experience will not only end the stigma associated with learning differences, but strengthen our community, inspire the uninspired, and create positive change on a global scale so that every child has the right and opportunity to find ability in learning disability. #1in5
