Before reading my post i must make clear i am not a member of the classic 50 racing club in the uk and do not have access to the secret forum however i am a 50cc man to the core and have and will continue to supply my Kreidlers to racers to help promote the class and show the class in a good light. Having attended the PDMC first round yesterday (well organised as always) sadly my prediction that entries would be low as the 50 club is not using all the PDMC meetings for all its championship races proved to be correct. Numbers need to increase to justify a 50 only race so what are the options ? well the club runs a so called democracy and in its wisdom has decided to use a number of cubs/circuits to count toward its championship so members are not going to attend unless it goes towards a championship so thats the end of that until another AGM but thats a democracy for you. My thoughts to increase the grid numbers is to use the same system as used in the Eurocup and include a Freetech class (did you copyright this Martijn :) ) this would allow relatively free development of a 50ccrace bike or new riders could buy a Derbi/Aprillia rs 50 for little money, this could very well appeal to many younger riders wanting to start a race career and fill the void left by the fact that the JRA is no longer active. As many of you may know the JRA was a breeding ground for many British and world champions by offering relatively inexpensive and affordable racing. If Martijn and the freetech crew are happy with the UK club adopting the Freetech rules UK riders would have the chance to go and race on the continent and vice versa . DONT wait until the next AGM and Dont fiddle while Rome burns, this could all be taken care of in a few days. Your thoughts Ladys and Gents .
