(Before someone challenges me) Sorry to be the wet noodle here (or maybe the voice of reason), but this ice bucket challenge for ALS just rubs me the wrong way. I just dont like the bullying aspect of it wherein you publicly call out friends/family/associates with the challenge of donating to ALS. Ive always made my donations private, for private amounts (except to the beneficiary agency), and I dont like the idea of being forced to do it because someone challenged me to do it. I might privately encourage people to donate to good causes but not like this. And for what its worth, Ive given several times to ALS research before because a long-ago buddy of mine contracted it (and of course died a few yeas later). HATE the disease, but this fundraising stunt is not one Im going to support.
