The Long Green Line - Follows legendary Cross-Country coach Joe Newton and his York High School (Illinois) Dukes through the struggles and triumphs of their 2005 season, as they fight for a 25th state title. Marathon Road - Short film that follows Minneapolis based Team USA Minnesota as some of their athletes attempt to qualify for the Olympic marathon. Features Team coach (and former Augsburg coach) Dennis Barker and former Gopher All-American Andrew Carlson. Prefontaine - The inspiring life story of Steve Prefontaine, University of Oregon and Olympic 5,000m legend. Steve is largely responsible for sparking the running boom of the 70s…and for trademarking the blown back hair I sported this season. BOOKS: Pre – Same story as movie of Steve Prefontaine, only in reading form. The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner - Fictional short story about a British boarding school boy who uses his skill for running to defy the authority in his life. Running With The Buffaloes - Follows future Olympian Adam Goucher, head coach Mark Wetmore and the University of Colorado mens CC team on their quest for an NCAA National Title. (my personal favorite). Born To Run - A look into the lives of the Tarahumara Indians of Mexicos Copper Canyons, and the techniques they practice which enable them to run at near-superhuman levels.
