( As a teacher, I always tried to impress upon my students the changing nature of the language, tracing the history of words and usage and adding that new times necessitate new words. For instance, I would never have imagined using the word friended; yet, we all recognize it as a useful tool for communicating a process. Fascinating!) Though there are some problems with the use of social media, facebook lets us keep in touch with others that we otherwise might not contact.
