Before the demise of the Houston Critical Thinkers, we were having a conversation -- a rather good one -- about the outcome of the Ukrainian crises. It was my opinion that the Russia was winning even if the whole deal was clearly instigated by western imperialism. If Russia invades the Ukraine and pries even a sliver of the east, I think it would have been definitive. As it sits, I thought walking out with Crimea, and accelerating Kiev with 35 billion in gas debt was clever enough. Its clear whatever training Putin got in the KGB was worth more than Obamas Yale education.
